Transforming Lives: A case study of how health coaching led to successful weight loss and improved digestion

One of the questions I get asked most about being a health coach is, “Who hires a health coach?”

Fair question.

“Health coaching” is very new to this world. Actually, when I enrolled in grad school to become a health coach, I didn’t entirely know what that meant. I just knew I wanted to do it.

Talk about jumping and hoping I could fly!

So, who hires a health coach?

You.

You hire a health coach. It’s simple.

Health coaching fills the gap between you and your doctor. It answers all those questions your doctor won’t answer, it fills in the blanks of what to do next or where to start, and health coaching offers accountability like no other practitioner out there.

Health coaching doesn’t replace medical care, it adds to it. It’s the missing piece.

When you get stuck on your doctor’s vague instructions to “eat better” or “lose weight”, you call me.

When you don’t know where to start, you call me.

When you have zero time or motivation to make changes to your health, you call me.

That’s what health coaching does.

If you’re calling out, “ME! ME! ME!” keep reading or you can head over here and get the details right now

You are in good company. I’ve already helped hundreds of women, just like you, overcome some very difficult digestive and general health issues. They were all sitting right where you are now - excited, anxious, and maybe even a little nervous or scared. It’s all completely normal!

I want to introduce you to one of my former rockstar clients, Dana. I think you might find comfort in her story.

Dana first found me on social media and attended one of my webinars. She had some big health goals for the New Year but didn’t know where to start. She had tried on her own several times but couldn’t quite go all the way.

Something was missing.

Dana is a busy, high-powered career woman with active grandkids, a second job, and a very robust social life.

She wanted to lose weight but was worried about being judged by others if she couldn’t do it or if she gained it back - again.

Dana was struggling with emotional eating and found it very challenging to be around donuts, cookies, and candy. Just one? Nope, that was not in Dana’s vocabulary!

Dana so badly wanted to feel better, gain her confidence back, and be less judgy of herself and others.

Remember I mentioned Dana’s buzzing social life? She didn’t want to give up drinks with friends, Friday night dinners with family, and parties with everyone she loved.

When Dana began her coaching program at Full Bloom Acres Wellness, the first thing she did was dive head-first into collections of delicious, expertly curated recipes. We customized a meal plan just for Dana - no mushrooms, dairy, or cinnamon here! This meal plan made it easy for Dana to eat more fiber and less processed food, while still enjoying familiar favorites and avoiding the foods she didn’t like.

Within two weeks, Dana no longer needed antacids or laxatives. Hello, regular bathroom habits!

We also identified what was at the heart of Dana’s struggle with food. She was an emotional eater and used food as comfort. Dana learned to identify those emotions and process them more healthily. We looked at Dana’s mindset and did a total 180!

Since Dana was having some lingering pain from previous knee replacement surgeries, we started her on a very gentle exercise program. Not only did Dana no longer have pain just walking to the mailbox, but she built up enough strength to walk over two miles every day! Dana even completed a 5k walk!

All this without giving up social events and time with friends and family. Dana learned that those situations are not really about the food, but rather about spending time with loved ones and enjoying life. Something you can do even more of when you feel like a rockstar!

And that weight Dana wanted to lose? She lost over 30 lbs and felt the best she had in years!

“I looked at a picture of myself and thought, DAMN! I look good! I’m no longer avoiding the camera!”

Dana’s story is inspiring but it’s not unique. In fact, I see Dana in most of the people who I talk to on consultation calls.

They are frustrated, overwhelmed, and in pain. They just want to feel better. I’ve been there myself. You are in good company, my friend. However, on the other side, it’s a full-blown party and I’m exclusively inviting you to join.
